An organization is a complex issue. Imagine two similar organizations, the same product, same market. Why is one organization more successful than another? Has it to do with the corporate strategy, culture, people? MSc BCO is an one-year, full-time Master’s program that combines different perspectives: you look at the policy, strategy, change, culture, cooperation, and communication and behavior within organizations.
The specialization ‘Strategy and Identity’ goes deeper into the identity of the organization and employees, and you examine how organizations develop internal strategies. You imagine how organizations and their employees position themselves in the market, society, culture and the social networks in which they operate. The emphasis is on the role of identity in the internal and external communication, cooperation between different stakeholders, how organizations align their strategy to change circumstances, and the role of (social) media. From 2015 till 2016 I followed this Master at VU University.
With the Master Policy, Communication and Organization (BCO) you be able to combine different perspectives: you look at the policy, strategy, change, culture, cooperation, and communication and behavior within organizations. You develop a broad vision and works from the different perspectives in thought of policy, communication and organization. That gives you an advantage: you can approach problems in organizations in an appropriate and pragmatic way. You are able to get to a practical problem which occurs in an organization, choosing the appropriate theory and research methods; Then you can perform a critical analysis to formulate a well-founded answers.
